Formulating with Resins – Richard Hirst, Scott Bader

This presentation will consider what are you trying to do, which resin system should you use and why?

Scott Bader have a quite a selection of resin systems and can help you with the problems.
The presentation will outline the main resin technologies in Scott Bader’s portfolio and link their properties to key applications.
It will also consider the formulation challenges from the ever changing regulatory environment.
The presentation will cover both solvent based and waterborne technologies based on alkyds, acrylics and vinylidene chloride systems.

Richard Hirst – Technical Support and Development Manager Scott Bader Co.Ltd
Richard has a BSc in Colour Chemistry from Leeds University followed by a PhD from Leeds working for Professor Jim Guthrie on Cellulosic Copolymers.
He has worked for Scott Bader for nearly 25 years in various roles in the business and technical service.
He is currently the Technical Service Manager supporting the Speciality Polymers business for all applications including Coatings, Inks, Adhesives & Textiles.
Polymer types covered include alkyds, acrylics, styrene acrylics, vinylidene chloride copolymers and acrylic rheology modifiers.
